Gabby’s Story: in the blink of an eye

Gabby’s Story: in the blink of an eye

I am 16 years old. It happened at a music festival. And I was alone. I was walking through an alley with many people there so I thought I was safe. That is when a man pushed me up against a brick wall and started kissing me and touching me. No one saw because it was dark. No one heard because it was loud. I felt helpless. But that is when a security passing by saw and the man ran away. One moment I was on the way to meet up with my friends, and in the blink of an eye I was pushed up against a wall. For the past 3 months I have been hurting and blaming myself but recently I’m I have realized that healing is a choice and that the fault is not mine because of where I was or what I was wearing. For so long I have been praying for a sign that I will get better but god shows power through these times of vulnerability, he knows that I and anybody who is going through this CAN speak volumes and in to the hearts of everyone. It’s time to heal. If you are lost and you are not sure what to do just know that god is turning your private prayers in to a public testimony. And we are here to hear your story, and watch you fight for yourself and anyone else who may be scared to speak. I DESERVE to feel free and so do you.
